air conditioning

Why should I have my air conditioning serviced?

Your air conditioning system can lose up to 10% of its refrigerant a year causing a reduction in cooling efficiency, also the compressor oil is carried around the system by the refrigerant, so a reduction in refrigerant charge can also see a reduction in compressor lubrication leading to premature failure.

Manufacturers recommend.

Vehicle manufacturers usually recommend a 20-25,000 mile/2 year air conditioning service interval and with our state of the art R134a and R1234YF refrigerant management machines we can service 99% of vehicles manufactured after 1994.  Vehicles made before 1994 used the now obsolete R12 refrigerant  and unless they have already been converted to R134a would need an expensive conversion.

What is included in an air conditioning service?

Our air conditioning service includes recovering/recycling any refrigerant in the system, a 30 minute evacuation to purge the system of air and moisture, leak testing. adding fresh oil/UV leak detection dye (if required) and refilling with the correct refrigerant charge.
